Cheap VIZIO VBR220 Blu-ray Disc Player with Wireless Internet Applications, Black Discount Review Shop
Just brought the Vizio VBR210 home. Set up was a breeze, just plugged it in and away we went. Wireless connection was simple and connected to my router with no problems. Netflix and Pandora took all of about 2 min to set up, this has been great! Only dislike is the controller, its kind of a piece. Buttons are hard to push, and sometimes need 2 "pressings" before it works. Quite annoying. Overall a great entry level player for the price.

More Picture
6 Times the Picture Data on DVDs
See everything your HDTV can show you. Blu-ray Disc's Full HD 1080p resolution produces over 2 million pixels per frame to produce a razor-sharp picture with unmatched depth and clarity that takes full advantage of the capabilities of today's 1080p HDTVs. That's six times the picture data contained on DVDs, which are encoded at only 480p.
24p True Cinema Video Output
Most Hollywood movies are shot at 24 frames per second, and Blu-ray Disc movies are mastered at 24 frame per second, so it is only fitting that Blu-ray Disc players can output your films at 1080/24p for a true film-like experience at home. Blu-ray disc players can also output at 1080/60p for more traditional HDTV sets on the market. Either way, you covered for the best picture possible in Full 1080p.
Backwards compatible and Upscaling
All existing Blu-ray Disc players will play your standard DVD collection without a problem. And with built-in 1080p video upscaling, they'll look even better.

Customer Reviews
Impressive BD Player - Chad A. Podell - High Bridge, NJ
Good player, good playback. BDLIVE worked on Psycho (the 1st disc played) with usb flash drive sandisk 4gb in slot. Upstairs bedroom location wireless signal (unsecured) goes on and off and displays annoying message during playback of video. Optical audio port working fine going to Vizio Soundbar using PCM Stereo audio setting from player's main menu. Connected to DVI HDTV using HDMI to DVI converter making picture nice and sharp for 1080i. Remote works fine but hard to press buttons and point to infrared area of player. Pop up menu and other advanced functions work.
All in all, good so far for 1 night of use. Hoping it won't faulter for many years... Got this after having Blu Ray Disc Playback Read problems with HP Pavillion DV7-3165dx laptop.
Remote difficult to use - Sonoma's Davey - Guerneville, CA United States
The player seems real nice. Netflix and Vudu seem to work very well. But the remote is so annoying that I'm thinking of returning it. Haven't decided yet. The buttons on the remote are stiff, uncomfortably so. Not at all convenient to use, and sometimes painful on the fingers.
To good to be true - T. Pauley - Texas
Bottom line, I had 3 different units within 1 week, all failed. Details below.
Around July I upgraded to a 42" Vizio LCD. (I already have a 32" Vizio LCD in the bedroom and loved it, so I figured I'd go with Vizio for another TV). I then wanted to get a Blu-Ray player for the bedroom, and specifically wanted the Netflix apps, so I saw this player at Wal-Mart and gave it a go for 8. With the built in Wireless it was the best deal around for full functional wireless out of the box (no extra adapters to buy).
Unit #1: Plugged it into my 32" Vizio via HDMI and it came up. Setup the network settings, registered through Netflix and it started trying to stream a show. It then locked up. Tried again, same issue. Then it wouldn't even come on, only my TV saying no signal detected. I had previously borrowed my friends Blu-Ray and knew the HDMI cable was good. But to rule it out, I bought a second cable and tried it, same thing. Tried it on the new 42" Vizio TV, same thing. Nothing. Tried all the HDMI ports... Nothing. Running out of ideas I took it back to Wal-Mart and traded it. (Maybe 1.5 days total possession or this unit)
Unit #2: Plugged it in, and had a similar response as 1st, but much shorter life. Maybe 2 minutes. Then no video. Tried both TV's, both cables. Same result. New idea.... try a component cable. Voila! Network setup and worked find, but no Component isn't HD!?!? Tried a firmware up date. Got the error mentioned here by others. "Server Error (8404) Not able to perform update at this time. Please try again later." Hmmmm. So I decided to get online and try and get some tech support. Couldn't find anywhere to download a firmware update, so I finally filled out the form to get tech support to call me. 2 Days later they emailed and said to call. In the meantime I traded the 42" Vizio LCD in for a 47" Vizio LCD. Same sorry result with regards to everything. So I could pretty much rule out the TV. I did and the tech had no clue. I told him all that I had tried. He then tells me "YOUR BEST BET IS JUST GONNA BE TO USE THE COMPONENT CABLE". After I picked myself up of the floor, and then schooled him on "why would I buy a blu-ray player if I couldn't get HD video???????" Knuckle head. So I then thought I'd try one more unit. I know, "I'm a glutton for punishment." (2 days Total possession)
At Wal-Mart: I had the neofite in the electronics dept hook up via HDMI(that I grabbed off the shelf and opened, much to his dismay). It still didn't work. I felt better about my mad skillz now.
Unit #3. I had them plug it up in the store to make sure it would work. It did, but so did the others briefly. So I went home and it did something completely different this time. Dead when I plugged it up. I had started with a different TV and cable than before, just to make sure some short in my 32" wasn't killing them. All it would do is just flash the power, then kick back off. Dead, DEAD DEAADDD!!! Went through the whole routine again with cords, ports, tvs, etc. Same result. DEAD! Take back to Wal-mart. (2 Hour time of possession)
LG BD550# Worked out of the box, no wifi, but I worked that out another way. Plays great, no glitches, updated firmware, sunshine and roses!
Apparently Vizio Blu-Rays Stink! Love the TV's though.
