Less than one year of use and it's out of date! Won't play some of the blu rays anymore. I guess I have to update the firmware.

You'll spend all your time on the phone with tech support instead of watching movies - The Batman - Palo Alto, CA USA
After 9 months the player stops playing BluRays, even older ones and ones it has played before. The firmware updates on the LG website are bunk so you have to call tech support. 45 minutes later, you'll get some guy that says they need to send you CDs with newer firmware. 14 days later you'll get these CDs, after the update, however, only a few BDs will play, so you'll have to go back to step 1 and repeat the entire process. Even if this works, the player skips and stutters.
Get a PS3 Slim instead.

This item worked for 4 months and dropped dead. It will cost more than 75% of the original cost to get it repaired. These items should work for at least 5-10 years, not just days. I would not recommend any LG product.

I purchased this player a year ago price was good, plays dvd's but not blu-ray discs. I'm not hooked up to internet. I'm sure a need a firmware update, I called LG for help, guess what, no help at all, asked to send a disc, no disc, it has been 2 months now so I'm in the market for a new player, I have a Samsung LN46B650, any suggestions for a new BD player will be helpful, not into netflix just want something that will play blu-ray discs. Bottom line buy another BD player. Don't waste your money.
