Panasonic DMP-BD65 Blu-Ray Disc Player (Black) for $104.50

Cheap Panasonic DMP-BD65 Blu-Ray Disc Player (Black) Discount Review Shop

I'm not a technical person like a lot of the other reviews I read - I'm just a normal person who wanted a blu-ray player that we could afford. We purchased this along with the Panasonic 42" plasma TV model P42C2. The salesman at the store told us these were very easy to link together - a big plus for us since we are not at all electronically inclined.

We love this blu-ray player! The quality is outstanding. We're very pleased with how easy it was to connect the tv to the blu-ray player. It was in our price range, and to us, that was the most important part. When we bought this my husband and I said to each other that we've got to be careful and not buy all of our movies on blu-ray just because we have one now. But the last 4 movies we've bought have all been on blu-ray. We also have an "old-fashioned" dvd/vcr player hooked up to the TV for the kids' movies so they don't mess with the blu-ray and the difference is amazing. I'm a big Twilight fan and was so excited to watch Edward sparkle! It was a totally different experience.

All in all, we are very happy with our purchase. We matched prices with another store and paid 0 for our blu-ray.

Panasonic DMP-BD60 Blu-ray Disc Player (Black) for $110.00

Cheap Panasonic DMP-BD60 Blu-ray Disc Player (Black) Discount Review Shop

Unlike many others out there, I have not experienced any of the freezing problems. I purchased this about 6 months ago and have never updated the firmware because right out of the box, the player has worked beautifully. I got this to supplement my PS3 as a BluRay player when I quickly realized that my wife would want to watch movies as often as I'd want to play a game. Since I had already spent a chunk of money on the PS3 I didn't want to spend another small fortune on a stand-alone plain BluRay player. So I did some research and this player came up several times. After reading everything I could on it, I decided it fit the bill. It has better than average up-conversion and BluRay playback, has VieraCast for Amazon and Youtube and Netflix (if you're into that), and wouldn't break the bank. Now that I've had it for 6 months, I can say everything I read about the player is true. It performs like a champ and my movies look great. My only complaint is that the player is SLOW. Granted, my experience with BluRay is limited to this player and my PS3. But my PS3 starts up quickly, and seems to load and play my movies pretty snappily. Whereas the Panasonic takes 30 seconds just to start up when I hit the open/close button. Once it powers up and opens and takes my movie, it will be another 30-90 seconds while it loads the movie. It might just be that most BluRay players are like that. I'm only used to PS3, and before that, my DVD players (which were all machine gun fast compared to BluRay). So that's my only complaint. As far as it goes, it does annoy me, but honestly for the quality of the player and the price, I can learn to be patient with it.

Check Out Panasonic DMP-BD85K WiFi Enabled Blu-Ray Disc Player (Black) for $191.99

Panasonic DMP-BD85K WiFi Enabled Blu-Ray Disc Player (Black) Review

I got mine in Hong Kong, and I was very very disappointed to find out that the Asia version does not come with the Wi-Fi adapter. This is very ridiculous since the Wi-Fi feature is one of the main selling point of this product. I really don't know what Panasonic is thinking! Are they racist or something? And it wasn't any cheaper too. And considering the adapter is being sold seperately for ~, does that mean the player itself should only be xx? Which is wayyy less than what I paid for. But nontheless it is a fine player, picture and sound quality is superb! Noticeably better than my previous BD30. But this ridiculous unfair treatment to Asia user has given me a disappointing experience with Panasonic, I hope they'll at least allow us to purchase the adapter at a cheaper price, I think that's the least they should do.

Experience Movies Like Never Before

The DMP-BD85 employs the PHL Reference Chroma Processor Plus. Developed in collaboration with Panasonic Hollywood Laboratory, this high image processing technology reproduces clear, vivid colors that are faithful to the original film.

Panasonic's Blu-ray Disc players employ high precision 4:4:4 signal technology, which working in tandem with PHL Reference Chroma Processor Plus processes each pixel of the Blu-ray Disc video signal in the horizontal direction to compliment vertical direction processing. P4HD (Pixel Precision Progressive Processing for HD) is another technology that contributes to the superior picture quality of the Blu-ray players. P4HD processes more than 15 billion pixels per second and applies the optimal processing to every pixel.

Panasonic's Blu-ray Disc players further utilize 16-level motion detection to categorize the image motion of each pixel into one of 16 levels; diagonal processing to detect diagonals and correct the pixels accordingly; 1080p up-conversion to up-convert content recorded in the 480i/p or 720p format to 1080p.

This Blu-ray Disc player also provides 1080/24p output, reproducing cinema images from a Blu-ray Disc and DVD in their original 24p form with no need for conversion--enabling you to enjoy cinema images in the same format used in cinema with a 1080/24p-compatible TV.

Complimenting the HD audio codecs, the BD85 Blu-ray Disc player features 96kHz surround re-master, a function that enhances the sound quality of CDs and other sources, and even improves the quality of the multi-channel audio data on Blu-ray Discs and DVDs.

Doesn't play alot of blu-ray DVD's - PD - Virginia
I purchased this the BD85 a few months ago. Initially it seemed to work fine - meaning it played whatever DVD I put in there, including Blu-ray disks. It also was very easy to set up Wi-fi and watch instant Netflix movies.

However, in the past month I have tried playing 3 different Blu-ray disks including "The Road" , "It's Complicated" and none are playable despite having the most up to date firmware. These disks play PERFECTLY WELL on my PS3.

I contacted manufacturer by email - they replied I needed to put in a SD card as "minimum 1 GB SD card as some Blu-ray disks require additional memory". I added a 2 GB SD card and had the player format it. The disks still do not work!!!

Pasasonic's response "the bluray player is very sensitive, as a result if the discs that you rented from Netflix contain fingerprints, dirt, or any foreign particles, it will not play in the unit. We apologize for the inconvenience."

My asnwer: the disks don't look bad at all (minor scratches), and they play on my PS3 - they SHOULD play on the Panasonic too. What a piece of junk!

Next time, I'm just going to purchase another PS3 to use as a Blu-ray player as I've never had any problems with that device (and it's much faster at loading disks than the BD85).

Great, needs more online features though - jdawg -
This Blu-ray player is exceptional. Picture quality and sound quality are great. The only reason I did not give it five stars is because it has the Fox Sports as "comming soon" and it could use so more online services such as Hulu. Other than that this thing is awesome.

Excellent quality and price - William R. Drake - Nevada City, CA USA
Based on the positive reviews and the price I bought this model to move up to blu-ray. It is really great. It is easy to use and provides an excellent picture for DVDs and blu-ray. I like that it can interface with the internet and Netflix (although I have not used that feature yet). I also like Panasonic's customer service. In my experience, their personnel are very knowledgeable. A great player at a very good price.
